SUBJECT: CLEANING OF SCHOOL ROOFS IN ANTICIPATION OF RAIN FORECAST FROM 26TH TO 30TH AUGUST 2024
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to inform you that the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a recent weather forecast (enclosed). Indicating heavy rain is expected from 26th to 30th August 2024. To ensure the safety of our school infrastructure as well as the wellbeing of student and staff, it is essential to take preventive menses. In light of this forecast, your immediate attention is requested on the following:
- Cleaning of Roofs: Instruct all schools Head Teachers to thoroughly clean their roofs to prevent water accumulation, which could lead to kills and potential damage to the school buildings.
- Drainage System Check: Ensure that all drainage systems are clear of obstructions to allow proper water flow and prevent blockages.
Taking timely action will help minimize disruptions and avoid potential hazard related to water accumulation and leaks. Please circulate this message to all school head, under ‘out jurisdiction and ensure strict compliance.
