Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Bans Sharing of Exam Hall Footage on Social Media–Official Notification

Social Media Use Restricted During Annual Board Exams in KPK – Important Notice for Staff:

In a recent and important update, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) has issued strict directions concerning the conduct of the Annual Examinations 2025. The Elementary & Secondary Education Department has expressed concern over the increasing trend of supervisory staff capturing and sharing videos or photos from examination halls on social media platforms.

According to the latest Government Notification, this practice has caused public inconvenience and unnecessary stress among students. In light of these concerns, the department has strictly prohibited such activities during exams. The directive clearly states that only the department is authorized to release official exam-related updates to media or public platforms.

All Chairmen of BISE Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are requested to ensure that examination staff comply with this order in letter and spirit. Please find notification:

Dear Sir

                              I am directed to refer to the subject noted above to state that several instances have come into the notice of this department wherein supervisory staff that conduct visits of examination centers/halls capture video/still images and later on share it on social media pages/accounts. Such demonstration of practice is causing inconvenience for the departments and distress among students undertaking exams.

                              I am therefore, directed to request that all staff conducting supervisory visits of examination hall may strictly be directed to refrain from uploading any video/still images on social media pages/accounts. Furthermore, Elementary & Secondary Education department will share reports/details on media as and when required

Exam Halls Are Not for Social Media – KPK Govt Issues Final Warning to Supervisory Staff:

As Board Examinations 2025 begin across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the E&SE Department has reiterated the need for maintaining decorum and confidentiality inside exam centers. A new official notification has directed all BISE Chairmen and supervisory staff to strictly avoid uploading videos or pictures from examination halls to any personal or public social media accounts.

This decisive move comes after numerous complaints and observations where such media content disrupted the sanctity of the exam process and created unwanted pressure on students. The government emphasized that all communication regarding exams will be handled centrally by the department.

All staff members involved in monitoring and inspection duties are expected to comply without exceptions. Violations of these instructions may lead to disciplinary action.
