Public Holiday Declared in Sindh for Lal Shehbaz Qalandar’s Urs:

The Government of Sindh, Labour & Human Resources Department has officially declared 19^th February 2025 (Wednesday) as a public holiday across the province on the occasion of Lal Shehbaz Qalandar’s Urs. This decision has been taken in accordance with Notification No. SO(L-II)/H-29/2011-1, issued on 18^th February 2025.

Under Section 80(1) of the Sindh Factories Act, 2015 (Sindh Act No. XIII of 2016), the holiday will be observed by all workers in Sindh, allowing them to participate in the annual Urs celebrations of the revered Sufi saint. The notification aligns with the Sindh Government’s Services, General, Administration & Coordination Department Notification No. SO(CTC)(SGA&CD)27(2)/2025, dated 14^th February 2025.

No. SO(L-II)/H-29/2011-1: In pursuance of Services, General, Administration & Coordination Department, Government of Sindh Notification No. SO(CTC)(SGA&CD)27(2)/2025, dated 14th February, 2025 and in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 80(1) of the Sindh Factories Act, 2015 (Sindh Act No. XIII of 2016), the Government of Sindh is pleased to declare 19^th February, 2025 (Wednesday) as Public Holiday on the occasion of “Lal Shehbaz Qalandar’s Urs” and shall be observed by all the workers in the Province of Sindh.
