ETEA Testing System Updated – Key Amendment in Government Notification:
The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued a new Government Notification regarding amendments in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Educational Testing & Evaluation Agency (ETEA) and the Directorate of Elementary & Secondary Education. This change aims to revise the existing testing system by eliminating the clause related to negative marking.
This decision is expected to benefit thousands of candidates applying for government jobs in KPK, as it ensures a fairer and more transparent evaluation system. The removal of negative marking will allow students to attempt questions with more confidence without the fear of losing marks unnecessarily. This update aligns with the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance the education system in Pakistan.

SUBJECT: AMENDMENT IN THE MOU SIGNED BETWEEN ETEA & DIRECTORATE OF ELEMENTARY & SECONDARY
I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and the MOU signed between the Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education and this Agency dated 30th January 2025 and state that in compliance to the clause 60 of the above referred MOU, this Agency intends to amend the clause 30 of the MOU to the extend of removing wording regarding negative marks. It is therefore requested that the clause 30 may kindly be read as follows:
“The qualifying marks for both stages of the test will be 50% of the total marks.”
