Supreme Court Ruling Ends Reserved Quotas for PESCO Employee Families:
The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has officially withdrawn all quota-based appointments following a Supreme Court of Pakistan decision. As per the official notification (No. 4671-4730/HR/PESCO/12/35-G, dated 17-02-2025), appointments under the widow/widower, deceased employee, and 20% employees’ children quota will no longer be entertained.
This decision comes in compliance with the Supreme Court’s ruling (Civil Petition No. 3390 of 2021, dated 18-10-2024) and the legal opinion of PESCO’s Chief Law Officer. All previous policies and memorandums allowing such appointments have been revoked with immediate effect.
Going forward, all hiring in PESCO will be conducted based on open advertisement, competition, and merit, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities for all. For complete details, please refer to the official notification below:

OFFICE ORDER
In compliance with the Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan’s judgment dated 18.10.2024 in Civil Petition No. 3390 of 2021 and opinion of Chief Law Officer PESCO, no appointment (contract / regular/lump sum package) of the widow/widower, wife / husband or child of the PESCO employee under Electrocuted, Deceased (died during Service) and 20% Employees Children reserved quota shall be made in future.
All such policies/memorandums of the authority adopted by PESCO and currently in vogue are hereby withdrawn/ cancelled henceforth.
All appointments in PESCO must be made in strict compliance with the Supreme Court of Pakistan order, based on open advertisement, competition and merit.
