Punjab School Education Department Reinforces Transfer Policy for Teachers via SIS Portal:
The Punjab Government’s School Education Department has issued a crucial reminder to all District Education Authorities (DEAs) to strictly follow the updated e-Transfer Policy 2024. In a recent notification dated 16th April 2025, the Monitoring Wing has referred to Clause 17, Section VI of the policy, which clearly states that teachers currently serving on administrative posts are not eligible to apply for teaching positions through the SIS Portal without prior approval from the Competent Authority.
This directive has been issued to prevent policy violations and maintain administrative discipline across Punjab’s school system. DEAs are also instructed to ensure that these rules are disseminated to all lower-level formations for immediate compliance.

Punjab Govt Tightens e-Transfer Policy for Teachers on Admin Posts: Approval Now Mandatory:
This latest directive from the Punjab School Education Department serves as a strong reminder to all educational administrators and teachers that policy violations through the SIS Portal will not be tolerated. Teachers serving on administrative roles cannot simply switch back to teaching roles without official approval—a measure intended to bring fairness, transparency, and structure to the transfer process.
DEAs must take this seriously and ensure that all relevant personnel are briefed and compliant. With this step, the Punjab Government continues its effort to implement systematic education reforms and uphold the merit-based transfer system for teachers across the province.
