Punjab Government Orders Immediate Improvement of Public Washroom Facilities:
In a significant step towards improving public convenience and hygiene, the Chief Minister of Punjab has issued strict directives to upgrade and maintain public washroom facilities along highways. The initiative aims to ensure that travelers, including families, women, and children, have access to clean and properly maintained restrooms during their journeys.
As per the official notification issued by the Office of the Commissioner, Multan Division, the following actions must be taken without delay:
- Upgradation & maintenance of existing public washrooms along highways.
- Petrol pump owners are instructed to build and maintain hygienic washrooms for public use.
- Future NOCs for petrol pumps will only be issued if they comply with public washroom standards.
- Meetings with petrol pump owners must be held within three days to ensure implementation.
Deputy Commissioners across Multan Division have been strictly directed to ensure compliance with these orders and submit a progress report after implementation.

SUBJECT: IMPLEMENTATION OF CHIEF MINISTER’S DIRECTIVES ON PUBLIC WASHROOM FACILITIES
Kindly refer to the subject noted above.
2. The Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab has directed that immediate measures be taken to improve public washroom facilities for male and female along highways to facilitate travelers. In light of these directives, the following actions are to be implemented without delay:
- Ensure the upgradation and maintenance of public washroom facilities along highways within your respective districts.
- Issue notices to all petrol pump owners/operators, directing them to construct and maintain properly equipped and hygienic washrooms for public use.
- Ensure that the provision and maintenance of public washrooms become a mandatory condition for the issuance of future No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to petrol pumps.
- Convene a meeting with all petrol pump owners in your district within the next three (03) days to formally communicate these directives. A compliance period of these actions shall be submitted after implementation.
3. You are requested to ensure strict compliance with these directives and submit a progress report to this office upon completion of tasks in the stipulated timeframe.
