Punjab Govt Announces IT Lab Revamp Under ASPIRE Project:
The Punjab Education Sector Reform Programme (PESRP), under the Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PMIU), is taking a significant step toward enhancing digital education infrastructure. A consultative meeting has been scheduled on March 21, 2025, to discuss the revamping and establishment of IT Labs in six lagging districts of Punjab: D.G. Khan, R.Y. Khan, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Bhakkar, and Rajanpur.
This initiative is part of the World Bank-funded ASPIRE project, aimed at improving digital learning facilities in public schools across these underserved areas. The meeting, chaired by the Programme Director of PMIU, will take place at QAED office, Lahore, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Attendees include Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of District Education Authorities (DEAs), school head teachers, School Management Council members, and potential suppliers and vendors of IT equipment. The purpose of this session is to finalize strategies for IT lab establishment and digital education integration in Punjab’s public schools.

The Programme Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PMIU), PESRP School Education Department, is executing a World Bank Funded Project “Establishment of Action to Strengthen Performance for Inclusive and Responsive Education” (ASPIRE) against a grant of the World Bank designated for 06 lagging districts of Punjab under different activities including ‘Revamping/ Establishment of new IT Labs at 06 lagging districts of Punjab namely, D.G Khan, R.Y. Khan, Muzaffargarh, Lodhran, Bhakkar and Rajanpur.
2. ASPIRE-PMIU intends to initiate the process of revamping/establishment of IT Labs in the lagging districts. In this regard a meeting is scheduled to be held on March 21st 2025 (Friday) at 10:00 AM to 4:00PM under the Chair of Programme Director PMIU at QAED office located on Link Wahdat Road, Lahore for the consultative meeting on the methodology and establishment of IT labs at public schools under the ASPIRE project.
3. The CEO/DEA of 06 lagging districts are advised to bring one Head Teacher and one Member from School Management Council from each Tehsil with them. Similarly, all the CEO/DEA from 06 lagging districts and 09 Divisional Headquarters are advised to bring potential suppliers, vendors or distributors of IT Equipment with them.
4. All the above-mentioned participants are cordially invited to attend the consultative session and provide valuable suggestions in the broader interest of public. Due weightage will be given to the practicable and bankable suggestions and comments.
