Punjab Pharmacy Council Issues Warning to Institutes Over Unlawful Charges:
The Punjab Pharmacy Council (PPC), Lahore, has issued a crucial government notification addressing serious complaints from students, parents, and official complaint portals regarding the unethical overcharging practices by Pharmacy Technician colleges and institutes in Punjab, Islamabad, and AJK.
According to the notification, several institutions have been accused of demanding additional fees for certificates such as NOCs, character certificates, and course completion documents, which are required for the registration of pharmacy technicians with the Punjab Pharmacy Council. These extra charges were reportedly not disclosed at the time of admission, creating financial distress for students and their families.
The PPC has taken a firm stance against these unethical financial practices and has directed all institutes to immediately stop demanding unauthorized fees. The Council has warned that failure to comply could result in disciplinary action and potential legal consequences. Please find the notification:

SUBJECT: Concerns Regarding Overcharging of Students in Lieu of Completion of File for Registration as Pharmacy Technician at Office of Punjab Pharmacy Council
Kindly refer to the subject cited above.
It is informed that a number of complaints from students / parents / departmental complaint portals i.e. Prime Minister Portal & Chief Minister Complaint Cell have been received in this office that you are involve in overcharging in addition to the prescribed fee from your passed out pharmacy technician students in the name of issuance of character certificate, NOC and course completion certificate for completion and submission of student file to the office of PPC for registration of candidate as pharmacy technician.
The students / parents have raised serious concerns regarding demand of unexpected heavy additional charges by you after their children have completed their studies, which were not clearly outlined or discussed at the time of enrolment / admission of student. This additional amount not only puts an undue financial burden on the students / parents but also violates the standards of fair and legal practices expected from your reputed accredited college / institution.
You are hereby advised to address these complaints / concerns promptly and take disciplinary action against your administration to prevent such occurrences in the future. You are not allowed to charge any additional fee / money other than prescribed fee in lieu of preparation of file for registration. Transparency and fairness in financial dealings with students / parents is essential for maintaining the integrity and trust in your institution & on educational system at large.
We will appreciate your cooperation and commitment to resolve / settle the breach of financial commitments and to run the college in accordance with Rules / Regulations / Law / Policy of PPC and Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP) to avoid the unnecessary litigations.
