Punjab Govt Launches First-Ever Teachers’ Sports Gala to Promote Well-Being:

The Punjab School Education Department has announced the 1st Teachers’ Sports Gala 2025, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at enhancing the physical and mental well-being of educators. This sports event will take place across all districts of Punjab, featuring various competitions such as cricket, tug-of-war, badminton, and athletics. The winners at the district level will advance to the divisional level, ensuring a competitive and engaging experience for all participants.

Scheduled between April 15 and April 19, 2025, the gala will be open to all public school teachers, promoting teamwork, fitness, and community engagement. Committees at both the district and divisional levels have been formed to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Strict SOPs and guidelines will be followed to maintain discipline, fairness, and a competitive spirit among participants.

The Punjab government’s initiative reflects its commitment to supporting teachers beyond the classroom, recognizing the role of sports in fostering health, unity, and motivation among educators.

Subject:               1^ST SPORTS GALA 2025 FOR TEACHERS OF SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT IN PUNJAB

                              I am directed to refer to the above captioned subject and to convey that Competent Authority in School Education Department has been pleased to desire that 1^st Sports Gala 2025 may be conducted across Punjab for teachers of School Education Department to maintain their physical and mental health.

2.                           I am further directed to state that number of games are scheduled to be conducted at district level as per following:

(Convener of the Committees are requested to seek assistance from the District Sports Officer / Tehsil Sports Officer (if any) for conduct of games/sports events)

4.            SOPs/Instructions/Guidelines for conduct of 1^st Sports Gala 2025:

• The Sports Games will be started from the dates as per schedule given in Para-2/above
• The arrangements of security, drinking water seating and cleanliness will be ensured at competition centres.
• The Conveners of all Committee will provide their contact number (mobile/ PTCL to all convener committees and heads of all relevant competition centres)
• All teachers from Public Schools will be entitled to take part in competitions on equal basis as per their willingness
• Sports games will be held separately for male and female teachers al separate venues:
• One teacher is entitled to compete in one event. No teacher will be allowed to participate in more than one game.
• Only 1^st position holder of each game will participate in divisional level
• The Committees reserves the right to change the venue and time of the match / competition with prior notice to the teams/participants
• The breach of code of conduct either by players or officials shall lead to disqualification.
• Each team/player shall be in proper uniform during the match
• The decision of the umpire / judges shall be final and binding on the participants Teams/Players shall report to the venue 30-minutes before the start of the game /match, otherwise walkover shall be awarded against the defaulters
• It is mandatory for the organizers to sign the result sheet after completion of the event/game.
• The protest (if any), shall be lodged to Jury of Appeal. The protester shall furnish the evidence solid proof to Jury of Appeal which will be decide the protest within one hour.
• All SOPs / Guidelines for smooth conduct of games shall be strictly adhere to in letter and spirit.

TORS:

• All Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) in Punjab / Convener shall notify Organizing. Jury/Complaint Redressal Committees for smooth conduct of the said event in their respective districts.
• The Deputy Director (Monitoring), School Education Department will be the Focal Person of all events/activities at district/divisional level.
• The DPI (SE/EE) Punjab Lahore will assist the Focal Person of all events/activities to be conducted at district/ divisional level as per their allotted districts and submit report of sports activities in a consolidated form alongwith pictorial evidence.
• The Committee constituted at district/ divisional level will be responsible for monitoring of whole games in a befitting manner
• The Focal Person will be responsible to ensure arrangements for smooth conduct of games within their jurisdiction, to convey instructions, to the lower formation and le monitor the conduct of games from district to divisional level
• The Committee will broadly advertise the programme in complete order.
• The whole held administration will assist the Committees Banners, Pana flexes will be adorned outside all the venues bearing the words 1^st Sports Gala 2025 for Teacher of School Education Department
• All Conveners/Members will be in close liaison with organizers to seek progress from them. They will be bound to provide guidance/help at every level/They will also be bound to provide results to their Focal Person
