SUBJECT: CONDUCT OF “ZERO PERIOD” & “HOUSEKEEPING ACTIVITIES” AND FILLING THE “DENGUE AWARENESS SURVEY FORM”
Reference minutes of the 9th Cabinet Committee Meeting for all infectious diseases including Dengue and Disaster Management held under the chairmanship of Minister, SHC&ME Department & P&SH Department, Punjab on 05-09.24 received from Director Health Services(CD&EPC), Directorate General Health Services, Punjab, Lahore vide letter No. 17789-826/CD&EPC dated 06.09.2024 regarding subject matter.
2. During the meeting, it has been emphasized by the chair that the “ZERO PERIOD” on Dengue awareness and “HOUSEKEEPING ACTIVITIES” in all public & private schools must be ensured on daily basis, along with following measures:
- Display of dengue related banners, posters, charts etc.
- Cleanliness (premises, toilets, water tanks etc.)
- Inspections of roof tops
- Removal of stagnant water
- Grass cutting from lawns/grounds
- Removal of junks/debris
- Plugging of water leakages
- Maintenance of vector free environment
- 100% coverage of all dengue hotspots
3. Moreover, you are required to distribute attached “Dengue awareness survey form” among the students in all public & private schools and they will submit in the school after filling it from their homes. The school heads will maintain the survey form’s record accordingly.
4. I am therefore, directed to request that necessary directions may be disseminated to anti-dengue focal persons and all heads of schools (public/private) for compliance of directions in true letter and spirit. No laxity in this regard, will be tolerated.
