In a significant relief for vehicle owners across Sindh, the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department, Government of Sindh, has officially extended the deadline to replace old vehicle registration booklets with the new Smart Cards. This move comes under the direction of the Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Sindh.
Originally set for 3rd April 2025, the new deadline now stands at 15th May 2025, giving ample time for citizens to switch to the modern security-featured Smart Card system. This transition is part of the government’s digitization efforts to enhance transparency, improve security, and streamline vehicle-related records.
Vehicle owners who haven’t yet replaced their old booklets are advised to visit their respective Excise and Taxation offices and apply for the smart card before the new deadline. The smart card system is more durable, secure, and convenient compared to the traditional paper booklets.
