Sindh Forest Department Appoints New Chairman for Enquiry into Illegal Activities–Notification

Forest and Wildlife Department Renews Commitment to Combat Illegal Encroachments:

The Forest and Wildlife Department, Government of Sindh, continues to take decisive action against the illegal encroachment and unlawful agricultural activities within forest lands across the province. This notification, dated January 9^th, 2025, highlights the department’s ongoing commitment to addressing these issues comprehensively and transparently. Following a change in the leadership of the enquiry committee, necessitated by medical reasons cited by Mr. Muhammad Arif Domki, Conservator of Forests, the department has appointed Mr. Amjad Ali Shah, Conservator of Forests (BS-19), as the new Chairman of the enquiry committee. This notification amends the previous directive issued on December 30^th, 2024, without altering the established terms or composition of the enquiry. The committee is tasked with investigating illegal activities, including tree cutting and unauthorized agricultural practices in Matiari’s forested areas, and is expected to submit a detailed report within 14 days. No. FT&WL(SOI)Illegal Cutting Trees/Land Grabbing/2024:         In view of inability shown by Mr. Muhammad Arif Domki, Conservator of Forests, on Medical Ground vide his letter No. B.I(d)Estt/-114 of 2024-25 dated 07.01.2025 and in partial modification of this department’s Notification of even number dated 30^th December, 2024 (copy enclosed) regarding conducting enquiry in the matter of illegal encroachment and illegal raising of agriculture crops in various forest of Matiari, Afforestation, Division, Mr. Amjad Ali Shah, Conservator of Forests (BS-19), (awaiting for posting) is appointed as Chairman of enquiry committee in place of Mr. Muhammad Arif Domki, Conservator of Forests (BS-19), Range Management/Bio-Diversity Parks @ Mirpurkhas. The committee shall submit report within (14) days positively.
