Government of Sindh Cracks Down on Tinted Windows & Fancy Plates in School Education Department:
In a latest Government Notification issued on 15th April 2025, the School Education & Literacy Department (SELD), Sindh, has expressed serious concerns over the increasing use of tinted windows and non-standard number plates by government officials. This newly issued circular emphasizes that such practices are not only in violation of traffic laws but also reflect poorly on the image of government institutions and employees.
According to the circular, all officers and staff within SELD and its attached departments are strictly instructed to remove tinted glasses from their vehicles and use only original number plates issued by the Excise & Taxation Department of Sindh. The use of fancy or altered plates is strictly banned.
To ensure implementation, Heads of all departments and sections are made responsible. Non-compliance will result in disciplinary action under Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 1973. Please find notification:

No.SO GAV/CIRCULAR/2025: It has been observed with serious concern that many officers/officials of the School Education & Literacy Department (SELD) and its attached departments are using tinted glasses and displaying non-standard/fancy number placed on their officials vehicles. This practice is violation of traffic laws and regulations and creates a negative impression of Government Officials.
Therefore, all officers/officials of the School Education & Literacy Department and its attached departments are hereby strictly directed to ensure the following:
- Removal of Tinted Glasses: All tinted glasses must be removed from both official and private vehicles with immediate effect.
- Display of Original Number Plates: Only original number plates issued by the Excise & Taxation Department, Government of Sindh, are to be displayed on vehicles. The use of fancy, non-standard, or altered number plates are strictly prohibited.
2. Head of all sections / offices / attached departments are responsible for ensuring strict compliance. Any officers/officials found violating these directives will face strict disciplinary action under the Sindh Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules 1973.
