Major Crackdown on Corruption in Karachi’s Sub-Registrar Offices Ordered:
The Government of Sindh, under the leadership of the Honorable Chief Minister, has taken a decisive step toward addressing long-standing issues of corruption and malpractice within the Sub-Registrar offices in Karachi. In light of the observations raised by the Worthy Chief Secretary Sindh, as outlined in the summary approved by the Chief Minister, a high-powered investigative committee has been constituted. This committee, comprising senior officers from the Board of Revenue, Sindh, is tasked with conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the records of notorious Sub-Registrar offices spanning the last five to ten years. The primary objective of this investigation is to unearth instances of widespread corruption, financial irregularities, and administrative lapses that have plagued the system. The committee has been mandated to complete its inquiry within 90 days and submit its findings, along with recommendations, to the Senior Member, Board of Revenue, Sindh. Furthermore, upon the conclusion of the investigation, relevant references will be forwarded to the Enquiries & Anti-Corruption Establishment (E&ACE) for necessary legal action. The formation of this committee signals a strong commitment by the Sindh Government to enhance transparency, enforce accountability, and restore public trust in the revenue and registration system. NOTIFICATION
With the approval of Honorable Chief Minister Sindh at Para 16 of Summary, whereby approved the observations raised by Worthy Chief Secretary Sindh vide Para 8 to 15 on enquiry report submitted by Chairperson CMIT a Committee comprising on following officers, is hereby constituted to investigate the record from notorious Sub-Registrar offices in Karachi or the last five to ten years to reveal extensive corruption. The committee shall conduct thorough investigation and hold those responsible accountable. The task should be completed in 90 days, followed by send references to E&ACE for appropriate action.
