Strengthening Education: Punjab Government’s Initiative for Summer Learning Camps 2025:
The Government of Punjab, through the Programme Monitoring & Implementation Unit (PMIU-PESRP), is taking a significant step in improving foundational literacy and numeracy among children aged 5-9. With the successful establishment of 6060 Learning Camps in 2024 under the TALEEM Programme, the initiative is now set to continue in 2025. These camps aim to provide quality education to Out-of-School Children (OOSC) and ensure their seamless integration into mainstream schools.
The School Education Department has shortlisted sites in 12 selected districts based on critical factors such as classroom availability, water facilities, toilet access, staff presence, and school-level dropout rates. Now, Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) and district focal persons are required to verify the feasibility of these sites and submit expected enrollment data. This verification process is crucial for ensuring a smooth implementation of the learning camps and achieving the goal of reducing the number of OOSC in Punjab. Notification Describes;
