The Significance of KP’s Special Eid Remission for Prisoners:
The special remission policy introduced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is part of its progressive approach to prisoner rehabilitation and social reintegration. The 60-day remission provides an opportunity for deserving inmates to reunite with their families sooner, offering them a second chance to contribute positively to society.
By excluding prisoners involved in serious crimes, the government ensures that public safety remains a top priority, while non-violent offenders receive relief. This move aligns with international best practices on prisoner rights and reformative justice.
