Khairpur Declares Local Holiday for Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast:

The Government of Sindh has officially declared March 15, 2025 (14th Ramadan-ul-Mubarak 1446), as a local holiday in Khairpur on the occasion of the 204th Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast (R.A). This announcement, issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Khairpur, applies to all government and semi-government offices, except for departments providing essential services.

Hazrat Sachal Sarmast (R.A), a renowned Sufi poet and spiritual leader, is revered for his teachings of love, peace, and unity. His annual Urs attracts thousands of devotees from across Pakistan, gathering to celebrate his legacy through Sufi music, poetry recitations, and spiritual discussions. The Sindh Government’s decision ensures that locals can participate in the Urs festivities without work-related commitments.

In exercise of powers conferred upon me vide notification No. CTC(SGA&CD) 27 (2) 2001 (Pt-I) dated 19th November 2001, issued by Government of Sindh, Service, General Administration & Coordination Department, Government of Sindh, Karachi. I, Syed Ahmed Fawad, Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Mirs, do hereby declare the 15th March, 2025 (Saturday) (14th Ramdan-ul-Mubark 1446) as a Local Holiday on the occasion of 204th Annual Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast (R.A) 2025, within territorial jurisdiction of District Khairpur except for the departments/ offices delivering essential services.
