MEPCO Introduces New Incentive Policy for Meter Readers:
In a significant development, the Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) has announced a special incentive for its Meter Readers working on Category-I and II feeders. As per the latest government notification, MEPCO has approved a Rs. 5 per meter incentive for eligible meter readers, ensuring they are fairly compensated for their additional workload.
This decision was taken during the 206th MEPCO Board of Directors (BOD) meeting held on October 2, 2023, and has now been implemented across all operational formations. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MEPCO has also requested an implementation status report, along with details of incentive payments for the last six months.
This initiative aims to motivate employees, improve efficiency in meter reading, and ensure accurate electricity billing for consumers. For MEPCO employees, this comes as a welcome step towards better financial incentives and job satisfaction. Notification Describes;

SUBJECT: INCENTIVE @RS.5/- PER METER TO METER READERS FOR CATEGORY-I & II FEEDERS.
It is intimated that MEPCO BOD in its decision taken in 206th meeting held on 02.10.2023 against agenda item No. 33 notified vide Company Secretary MEPCO Multan letter No. 14240-61 dated 13.10.2023 has accorded approval for grant of incentive amounting to Rs.5/- (Rupees five only) per meter to Meter Readers working beyond the revised yardstick for only category-1 & 11 feeders and the same was conveyed for implementation in all formations vide this office order No. 613-7/85881-88 dated 23.10.2023 (copy attached).
It is desired to furnish the status of implementation of aforementioned notification and also submit detail for payment of the said incentive to Meter Readers for the last 06x months for perusal of CEO MEPCO, please.
