OFFICE ORDER
Sub: VERIFICATION MECHANISM OF FREE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY AND MEDICAL FACILITY FOR PENSIONERS
On the recommendations of committee constituted vide Office order No. AD (E.IA)/ 7006/ Gen/ 816-21 dated 11.01.2024 to resolve issues regarding free electricity supply and medical facility for pensioners / widows after bifurcation of WAPDA and Old Electricity Department, Member (Finance) WAPDA has accorded approval for following:-
- Free Electricity forms will be verified after obtaining proof of the pensioner’s latest payment of pension.
- Office of the Manager (Pension) WAPDA will verify the credentials of pensioners along with identification of last retiring office from the available records in both hard and soft forms and in accordance with office order issued by Secretary WAPDA vide No S/AD(Coord.)/03003/MTG/1838-43 dated 20.10.2007 for restructuring/bifurcation of WAPDA and forward the same to concerned retiring office. The last retiring office will verify the Free Supply forms/Medical Registration forms and forward the same to concerned quarters. In case of closed/merged retiring office, the GM Finance of the concerned wing will verify the forms along with provision the IOT Code of enabling Free Electricity Supply/Medical Facility to these pensioners.
- For Old Electricity Department Employees (merged in WAPDA) but opted for provincial Govt. pension scheme, if their last retiring office cannot be determined by Manager (A8F) Pension due to non-availability of records, the office of DG (HR) WAPDA will verify the service particulars with IOT code of GM Finance (Coord) WAPDA. The office of GM Finance (Coord) WAPDA will make payment of their electricity bills to the respective DISCOs from his office budget and necessary provisions will be made in their annual budget under the relevant head of accounts.
