Smog Safety Measures for Schools in Punjab: Government’s Plan for February 2025:
The Government of Punjab, School Education Department (Monitoring Wing) has issued an important directive regarding the implementation of the Smog Action Plan for February 2025. With the growing environmental concerns related to air pollution and smog, the government is taking proactive measures to safeguard public health, particularly students and school staff.
As part of this initiative, District Education Authorities (DEAs) across Punjab have been directed to strictly implement the Smog Action Plan and ensure the execution of the following key activities:
- Running awareness campaigns on smog safety in schools.
- Adhering to school opening and closing schedules to minimize outdoor exposure.
- Facilitating e-learning as an alternative where necessary.
To ensure compliance, CEOs of all DEAs must actively oversee the implementation of these measures and provide daily pictorial evidence in the designated official WhatsApp group.
This initiative aims to minimize health risks associated with smog exposure and promote a safe learning environment for students and educators. Notification Describes;

2.                          As you are already well aware that Government of Punjab, School Education Department is actively working to reduce smog through various initiatives. In this regard, following activities must be followed for the month of February, 2025 with great zeal and zest:
- Run campaign on smog safety by the Department.
- Implement school opening and closing schedules.    Â
- Facilitate e-learning.
3.                          I am therefore, directed to request you to ensure the implementation of the above said directions in letter and spirit and also conduct above said activities on daily basis regarding smog safety. Moreover, disseminate the directions at all levels for its strict compliance and also send the pictorial evidence on daily basis in CEOs (DEAs) official Whatsapp group.
