Higher Education Department Punjab Sets SOPs for Teachers’ Sports Events 2024-25 – Everything You Need to Know:
The Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has officially announced the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the 1st HED Punjab Teachers Sports Events 2024-25 at the provincial level. This initiative aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among faculty members of public sector colleges in Punjab.
According to the notification, participation is mandatory for all eligible teachers, and the competition will feature various sports, including cricket, badminton, and table tennis. The cricket tournament will follow the T7 format with a white tape ball, while badminton and table tennis will be played in the doubles category with specific age brackets. Librarians are also permitted to participate.
A point-based system will be implemented to determine the winners, with separate General Trophies for male and female participants. The Director of Education (Colleges) Lahore Division will oversee event management, equipment arrangements, and media coverage. Financial matters will be handled under PPRA rules, ensuring transparency.

SOPs FOR THE 1ST HIGHER EDUCATION DEPARTMENT PUNJAB
(TEACHERS) SPORTS EVENTS 2024-25 AT PUNJAB LEVEL
The events will be according to the following SOPs:
1. The playing rules shall apply in accordance with the respective National Federations.
2. The athlete/player must be a regular faculty member of the Public Sector Colleges in Punjab,
3. Participation in the above mentioned sports events is mandatory for all teachers.
4. The Team Entry Performa must be duly signed and attested by the Director of Education (Colleges).
5. All players must provide their latest/recent salary slip, duly signed and attested by the concerned Principal & Director of Education (Colleges).
6. Players must present their original ID card at the time of verification.
7. Librarians are allowed to participate.
8. Only the Winner District (instead of winner college) team will participate in the 1st HED Sports Events for Teachers 2025.
9. The minimum age requirement for any player is 28 years across all sports.
10. The Director of Education (Colleges) will be the team captain, and the Deputy Director (Colleges) will serve as the vice-captain.
11. Cricket Team Composition (Playing XI):
- 28-30 years: 2 players
- 31-40 years: 5 players
- 41-50 years: 2 players
- 51-60 years: 2 players
12. If no player of any age category is available, then player may be accommodated from the elder age category
13. Badminton and Table Tennis will be played only in the doubles category, The composition of the team will be:
- Player 1: 28-40 years
- Player 2: 41-60 years
14. The age brackets only apply to Male Players/athletes.
15. The Host Director of Education (Colleges) will be the focal persons at the Provincial level.
16. Cricket matches will follow the T7 format, using a white tape ball and adhering to PCB playing conditions.
17. Each team must be accompanied by a Sports Incharge/manager not below the rank of BS-17 Officer.
18. The teams will report on the accommodation venue on 13ª February, 2025 till 06:00pm sharp.
19. The Game Coordinators will prepare the draws in the Managers’ meeting which will be held on 13th February, 2025 on 08:00pm sharp.
20. All sports equipment will be provided by the Director of Education (College) Lahore Division. This includes pitch preparation, cricket balls and stumps, badminton shuttles and nets with poles, and the table tennis tables. Any additional equipment will be borne by the players themselves.
21. Media publicity should be ensured at the provincial levels by the Director of Education (College) Lahore Division. Photo evidence along with newspaper clippings should be sent to the sports wing of the DPI (C) Punjab office for record-keeping.
22. The will be Point Based System to decide the General Trophy of events. The points will be as follow

23. There will be two General Trophies: one for male events and one for female events for the 1st Higher Education Department Punjab (Teachers) Sports Events 2025. The trophies will be arranged by the Director of Education (College) Lahore Division.
24. Each Director of Education (Colleges) will be responsible for providing TA/DA, tracksuits, accommodation for the teams at the provincial level through principals.
25. All financial matters will be dealt with under PPRA rules.
