Punjab Govt Bans Casual Leave in Public Colleges – Notification Issued:

The Punjab Higher Education Department has issued a new government notification restricting casual leave for all employees of public sector colleges in the province. According to the latest directive, no casual leave will be granted from April 3 to April 5, 2025 (Thursday to Saturday), under the Revised Leave Rules, 1981.

This decision follows a previous notification dated March 25, 2025, and comes as part of an effort to ensure smooth academic operations during the period. No.SO(EM-I)MISC/2025. In continuation of this department’s notification of even number dated 25.03.2025 and pursuant to the directions of the Competent Authority, it is hereby notified for all concerned that no CASUAL LEAVE on any ground, will be allowed by any competent authority under Revised Leave Rules, 1981 w.e.f. 03-04-2025 to 05-04-2025 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) in all the Public Sector Colleges of Higher Education Department in the Punjab.
