Sindh Govt Takes Action Against Price Hikes During Ramadan 2025:
To ensure fair pricing and prevent inflation during Ramadan 2025, the Government of Sindh’s Home Department has issued a new price control notification. The government has appointed Special Magistrates with First Class Magistrate powers to regulate prices across Karachi. This decision comes under Section 14-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, empowering magistrates to strictly enforce price control laws.
The appointed magistrates will operate within their assigned jurisdictions, as defined by the Commissioner Karachi. Their role is to monitor and take action against price gouging, hoarding, and unfair market practices, ensuring that essential commodities remain affordable for the public throughout Ramadan, until the Eid-ul-Fitr moon sighting.
This move aims to curb artificial price hikes and protect consumers from exploitation by retailers and wholesalers. Strict legal action will be taken against those violating federal and provincial pricing laws.

Strict Price Control Measures Enforced in Karachi for Ramadan 2025:
The Sindh Government has taken a significant step to stabilize market prices during Ramadan 2025 by appointing Special Magistrates to oversee pricing regulations. These officers, who have been granted First Class Magistrate powers, will actively monitor and penalize traders violating price control laws.
The Commissioner Karachi has been authorized to define jurisdictional boundaries for these magistrates, ensuring efficient implementation of price control measures. This initiative is crucial to prevent food shortages, price gouging, and hoarding, ensuring that essential commodities remain accessible and affordable for citizens.
Traders and businesses must strictly adhere to government-mandated prices to avoid legal action. Consumers are encouraged to report any violations to the authorities to help maintain fair market conditions during the holy month of Ramadan.
