Government of Punjab Issued Notification Regarding Revision In Financial Assistance Package For The Family Of A Civil Servant Who Dies While In Service

No. FD.SR-1/3-10/2004(P-II) GOVERNMENT OF THE PUNJABFINANCE DEPARTMENT Dated Lahore the 07th February, 2024 Subject:              REVISION IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PACKAGE FOR THE FAMILY OF A CIVIL SERVANT Who DIES WHILE IN SERVICE In continuation of this department’s letter of even number dated 07.12.2023 and in pursuance of decision of the Caretaker Provincial Cabinet in its 35th meeting held on 10.01.2024, I am directed to state that the Governor of the Punjab has been pleased to approve following revision in the provisions of Sr. No. 1& 4 & 5 of para-1 of Financial Assistance Package notified vide Finance Department’s policy letter bearing No.FD.SR-1/3-10/2004, dated 15.08.2017 for the families of civil servants who die while in service. It shall be applicable in case of a civil servant who dies while in service on or alter 10.01.2024: 1. LUMP-SUM GRANT: Basic Pay Scale Existing Rates(Rs. in million) Revised Rates(Rs. in million) 1-4 5.0 3.0 5-10 7.5 3.5 11-15 10 4.0 16-17 15 4.5 18-19 20 6.0 20 & Above 20 7.0 4. EDUCATION: Existing Revised Education scholarships is allowed to children of deceased civil servants (up to 3 children) out of benevolent fund as prescribed in the Punjab government servants benevolent fund Part-1&2 (disbursement) rules 1965 & 1966 Actual fees and mandatory charges which include registration fees enrolment fees, admission fees (for new admissions only) examination fees tuition fees library charges research related academic activities charges incurred on the education of children of deceased civil servants will be reimbursed for up to 3 children upon provision of original receipts from the concert institution for which mechanism may be developed by benevolent fund board unto 16 years of education from any public/private educational Institution within Pakistan 5. GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTANCABINET SECRETARIAT (CABINET DIVISION)  Islamabad, the 11th March, 2024 NOTIFICATION Subject:      CONSTITUTION OF COMMITTEE FOR REDUCING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EXPENDITURES F. No. 9-148/2002-Min-II. In pursuance of the approval of the Prime Minister, the subject Committee with the following composition is hereby constituted with immediate effect to present a practical plan for reduction in government expenditures:- i)         Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission                  (Chairman) ii)        Secretary, Cabinet Division                                         (Member) iii)       Secretary, Finance Division                              (Member) iv)       Mr. Rashid Mahrnood Langrial, Secretary, I.P        (Member) v)         Dr. Kaiser Bengali                                          (Member) vi)       Dr. Farrukh Saleem                                         (Member) vii)      Mr. Muhammad Naveed Iftikhar                       (Member) 2.                 The Terms of Reference (ToRs) of the Committee shall be as under- i)       Take stock of all reports commissioned so far, including report of the National Austerity Committee notified by Finance Division, for institutional reforms etc. aimed at downsizing of the Federal Government. ii)        Capture all the progress made so far in downsizing/rightsizing of Federal Government. iii)   Prepare strategy and implementation plan for Al remaining recommendations with timelines. iv)     Any other proposal (relating to PSDP, Pension Scheme etc.) that can be helpful in reducing government expenditure. 3.         The Committee may co-opt any person from public/private sector, if deemed necessary, for the purposes of this task. 4.         The Committee shall submit its report within one (01) week, for perusal/consideration of the Prime Minister. 5.         Cabinet Division shall provide secretarial support to the Committee.
