The Home Department Punjab has formally requested the School Education Department to incorporate this crucial topic in the syllabus to help children identify, understand, and report inappropriate behavior. With the rise in child abuse cases, there is an urgent need for educational institutions to take an active role in empowering students with personal safety knowledge. The Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CP&WB) is also launching an awareness campaign on this subject to educate children and ensure their protection from potential harm and exploitation. The government is committed to safeguarding children by implementing preventive education strategies in schools. This initiative will not only help reduce incidents of child abuse but also promote a safer learning environment for students across Punjab. As a preventive measure, it is crucial to educate children about personal safety and empower them to recognize and report inappropriate behavior. 2.                           In this regard, School Education Department being a key stakeholder can play its part by raising awareness among children about “good touch bad touch”, by equipping them with the knowledge to recognize and report inappropriate behavior. Therefore, Home Department proposes that a module may be included in the syllabus regarding “good touch bad touch” in order to aware, educate and protect our children from abuse and exploitation. 3.                           It is further added that Home Department through Child Protection & Welfare Bureau (CP&WB) is working on awareness campaign on “good touch bad touch” and details in this regard will be shared with School Education Department for outreach and children engagement. 4.                           Foregoing in view, I am further directed to request that keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter, further necessary action may be taken at your end at the earliest, in larger public interest, please.
