This notification comes as a relief for individuals who possess authentic manual arms licenses but missed the initial deadline for computerization. The government first launched the computerization of manual arm licenses in 2016, with the final deadline set for December 31, 2020. As per a prior notification, all unregistered manual licenses were canceled on September 1, 2022. However, recognizing that many valid license holders were unable to complete the process, the Punjab Government has now decided to reopen the revalidation process. Eligible individuals can now apply for revalidation at their respective divisional commissioners’ offices or through the Additional Secretary (Judicial), Home Department. The verification process will include cross-checking records with the Deputy Commissioner’s offices before issuing a new computerized arms license with the same weapon number. SUBJECT:             REVALIDATION/COMPUTERIZATION OF MANUAL ARMS LICENSES                              I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to intimate that the Home Department, Government of Punjab, initiated the exercise of revalidation / computerization of manual arm licenses in 2016. The last date for individuals to apply for this revalidation was December 31, 2020. Individuals who failed to apply within the stipulated time, their manual licenses/booklets stand canceled as per this department’s notification dated 01-09-2022 (copy enclosed). 2.                           It has come to the attention of the Competent Authority that many valid and authentic arm licenses could not be computerized during the initial exercise. However, these individuals still possess both the weapons and the canceled manual booklets. 3.                          I am further directed to intimate that the Competent Authority has decided to reopen the revalidation and computerization, specifically for valid individual arm licenses. In this regard, eligible individuals, holding authentic manual arm licenses, can apply for revalidation at the offices of the Commissioner of their respective divisions as well as with Additional Secretary (Judicial), Home Department. Upon verification of credentials and cross-checking records with the Deputy Commissioner’s offices and subsequent approval by Commissioner concerned/ Additional Secretary (Judicial), Home Department, eligible candidates will be issued new arm licenses having same weapon number to replace the canceled manual booklets. 4.                           The following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) shall be strictly adhered to during this exercise: i.             All Divisional Commissioners / Additional Secretary (Judicial) shall be personally responsible for overseeing the revalidation / computerization process at their respective levels. ii.            The authority for revalidation shall remain exclusively with the Commissioner/ Additional Secretary (Judicial), and shall not be delegated to any subordinate officer. iii.           The concerned Commissioner/ Additional Secretary (Judicial) shall approve the case of revalidation/computerization of a valid arm license through a well-reasoned, speaking order. iv.           In case any anomaly or malafide is detected during verification from Deputy Commissioner Offices, the Commissioner concerned on its own or on the recommendation of Additional Secretary (Judicial) shall initiate inquiry proceedings against the responsible officers/officials. v.            The renewal fee for arm licenses, as prescribed under the Punjab Arms Rules, 2023, shall be applicable. SECTION OFFICER (JUDICIAL-I) Compliance and Next Steps for Arms License Holders: This latest government notification provides an opportunity for valid arms license holders to complete the computerization process and obtain a legal, digital record of their license. Peshawar High Court Announces New Working Hours for Ramazan 2025–Official Notification

Notification / OM No. No. 1176-93/Admn Dated 27-February-2025 Notification Issued By: Peshawar High Court Peshawar High Court Adjusts Working Hours for Ramazan 2025: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has officially announced new working hours for the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak 2025. According to the latest notification, the Peshawar High Court, its Benches, and all subordinate courts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will operate on adjusted schedules to accommodate the religious and personal commitments of staff, lawyers, and the public during the fasting period. As per the revised schedule, from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, the courts will function from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM without any breaks. However, on Fridays, the working hours will be from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Courts will remain closed on Sundays as per the regular schedule. This step ensures that judicial proceedings continue smoothly while also respecting the religious significance of Ramazan. Lawyers, court staff, and litigants are advised to take note of these new timings to avoid any inconvenience. KPK Government Streamlines Rules for Additional Charge and Pay Allowance: The Finance Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly NWFP) has issued an official notification regarding the entrustment of additional charge and extra remuneration for government employees under FR 49. This directive aims to streamline procedures, reduce unnecessary expenditures, and eliminate delays in approving additional responsibilities for officials in various government departments. According to the notification, government officers assigned additional charge will be eligible for an extra remuneration of 20% of their basic pay, with a maximum limit of Rs. 800 per month. However, strict guidelines have been set regarding prior approval from the Finance Department, duration of the additional charge, and conditions for its continuation or abolition. The notification also states that if an additional charge arrangement exceeds six months, the vacant post will be considered abolished, and its duties will be permanently merged into existing posts. This policy is designed to enhance efficiency, prevent misuse of funds, and ensure a transparent system for assigning extra responsibilities in government offices. SUBJECT:             ENTRUSTMENT OF ADDITIONAL CHARGE AND GRANT OF EXTRA REMUNERATION FOR HOLDING ADDITIONAL CHARGE OF POSTS UNDER FR, 49 Sir,                               I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to say that it has been observed that the instructions regarding entrustment of additional charge of posts and grant of extra remuneration is sued from time to time are not strictly adhered to. This not only results in un-necessary extra expenditure, exchange of correspondence between the Finance Department and the Administrative Departments concerned but the Government Servants concerned are also placed in difficulties. 2.                           With a view to stream-lining the cases of additional charge and payment of extra remuneration the following consolidated instructions are issued :- i.             DISTRIBUTION OF WORK OF A VACANT POST. The work of a vacant post, as far as possible, be distributed among more than one Govt. Servant or the same status and designation available in the Department/Office. ii.            ADDITIONAL CHARGE ARRANGEMENT. Where the distribution of the work among more than one Government Servant is not feasible, the charge of the vacant post may be entrusted in its entirety, to another Government Servant in an equivalent scale/ Status This arrangement should not be made for a period less than one month and should not exceed thro months and it should be allowed with specific approval of the Secretaries/Heads of the Attached Departments/ Heads of Department not below BPS-20. However, it may be extended by another three months with the approval of next higher authority. Immediately on the expiry of Six months of the full additional charge of the particular vacant post, the post shall be treated as having been abolished and its duties automatically becoming part of the normal duties of the other existing posts of the same category in the department concerned. The post so treated as abolished shall not be revived without the concurrence of the Finance Department. iii.           PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT iv.           ADDITIONAL REMUNERATION. Additional Charge/Dual Charge Allowance shall be sanctioned by the Finance Department at a uniform rate of 20% of basic pay not exocoding Rs.800/- P.M. subject to fulfilment of the above conditions. 3.                           I am to request that the above instructions may be, brought the notice of all concerned for strict compliance.
