SUBJECT:      CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL, 2024 ON 11TH OCTOBER, 2024

2.                     I am directed to draw your attention on the significance of this day and the importance of empowering girls around the world. Girls are the heart of sustainable development and their strength, resilience and creativity drive positive change within their communities and beyond. On this day, it is collective responsibility to amplify their voices, support their ambitions and ensure they have the tools and opportunities to realize their full potential. In this regard, following activities must be carried out throughout the Public & Private Schools of the Punjab:

  • Speech Competition: “Educate a Girl and she will change the world”, “Power of Girls”, “My dream being a girl”.
  • Workshops on empowerment: Arrange workshops on the leadership and empowerment of girls.
  • Career guidance and opportunities: career talks by successful women from different professions, highlighting opportunities for girls in various fields like Stem, Art, business.
  • Sports and physical activities: Arrange event promote physical well-being and gender equality in sports by organizing girls only sports events or friendly matches in various games
  • Role model presentation: Presentation on famous girls in society. Students can present about famous girls in history, science, politics or activism who contributed to society.
  • Girls’ Day assembly: Conduct a special assembly featuring skits, gender equality and women rights in the society.
  • Raise awareness about challenges girls face around the society: Create space for open discussion about the challenges girls face in the society and plan strategies to overcome these challenges.
  • Celebration of young girl achievement: Acknowledge the achievement of girl students.
  • Advocate for change: For girl status within the families and society. Treat girls equally, prioritize girls education, involve girls in family decisions.

3.                     I am further directed to request you to ensure the implementation of the above said directions in true letter and spirit and also disseminate the directions at all levels for its strict compliance. Moreover, send the pictorial evidence of these events, to this office through e-mail at ddm2.cmmf@gmail.com within same day till 03:00 PM positively for onward submission to the high-ups.
